Who we are

Lotus Pond & Aquarium Maintenance (“we”) operates this website. For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 we are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect

If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, service type and message you submit. That is all the form asks for, and we do not ask for payment details or any special category data anywhere on this site.

We also collect anonymous, aggregated visit statistics (pages viewed, rough traffic volume). This is cookieless and is not used to identify individual visitors.

Why we collect it

Solely to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit, and quote for the work. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to someone who has deliberately contacted us about a service.

We do not sell your details, share them with third parties for marketing, or add you to a mailing list.

Who processes it

Form submissions are delivered to our inbox by a third-party email provider, and this site is hosted on Vercel. Both act as processors on our behalf and only handle the data needed to deliver and host.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Where we go on to carry out work, we keep the correspondence for as long as we're maintaining your system, plus six years afterwards to cover tax and insurance requirements.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@example.com and we'll action it within one month.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
